Dr. H.L.Blomquist,
Duke University,
Durham, N.C.
Dear Dr. Blomquist:
Having learned from Miss Margaret Long, formerly of Duke University but now carrying on work at this University, of your interest in the flora of North Carolina, I am taking the liberty of writing to ask whether you would be interested in arranging for an exchange of specimens.
We are vey desirous of having the vascular flora of your state more strongly represented in our herbarium, and are prepared to offer in exchange specimens from southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey, including the famous Pine Barrens of the latter state. If this idea appeals to you I should be glad to forward a small package of plants in order that you may see the type of material we have to offer. If you are not interested perhaps you would be so good as to put me in touch with someone at Duke who might care to follow up this matter.
Yours very truly,
John M. Fogg, Jr.
Curator of Herbarium.
