Dear Professor Yuncker:
I have not replied to your enquiry about Caldasia. The
editorship goes with the directorship of the Institute. Address
as follows:
Prof. Armando Dugand
Editor, "Caldasia"
Instituto de Ciencias Naturales
Universidad Nacional de Colombia
Bogota, Colombia
This publication is put out quite sumptuously, in excellent form
and excellently printed. I think you should endeavor to contribute
an article to it yourself, which would consist of supplementary
material of especial interest in Colombia.
The editor of the Botanical Gazette wrote me that a review by
Just was in press for the Botanical Gazette. So my review, without
further casting about, will go to Venezuela, for the reasons, as I
mentioned, that the editor was my student, is a warm personal friend,
and I've never contributed a line to his journal. I may do a special-
ized review for Ecuador, also, but won't attempt one for Colombia if
you are sending an article which will serve the same purpose as a re-
view. Caldasia publishes in English. The one now intended for Vene-
zuela is essentially done, but since it needs a few touches to make
it more suitable to local interests in that country, I haven't had it
typed yet. I'll try to finish it tomorrow, and get it off promptly.
Sincerely yours,
H. H. Bartlett
