Dear Dave:
In relation to your proposed trip to the Putumayo
region I think the best person to give you information on
the area is Dr. R. E. Schultes, Botanical Museum, Harvard
University. You probably know him well; he is a taxonomist
and for several years worked for the United States Department
of Agriculture in Colombia. He may give you the names of
Colombian people that you need to contact.
The yuca collection here is doing fine. I hope
you may stop here first because in June it will be already
mature.
With best regards, very truly yours,
Jorge León
Botanist
