M 172 Achillea lanulosa
"Yarrow"; "ta-se-tanega", "todzi-tanega"(P).
Flw. white; plants boil lvs. strain and use for drops in eyes;
"ta-se-tanega". After childbirth, for blood tonic boil into
tea, drink a cup twice daily for a week. For collar boils
on horses boil lvs. and apply-"todzi-tanega". In California
Indians drink lvs. infusion for tuberculosis; also for
celon applied as compress or poultice.

Large plant with characteristic dock lvs. 5-7 in. long with
out petiole; sheath of stem slightly woody.
For rheumatism and sores, mash root into pulp and apply by
rubbing, not as poultice. For stomach trouble boil root
and drink tea. A main medicine. At Battle Mountain boil
root and use as poultice for bruises.
M 177 Cichuta "wild parsnip"; "ha-ka-nup"(P).
For snake bite: wash root and apply to bite; if bitten on
limb make horse hair tourniquet above bite (also reported
at McDermitt) to split the root and bind onto wound.
Highly poisonous to people and animals if eaten.
M 178 Leptotenaia
"Tasupa"(P).
Tall, shade growing; root carrot shaped (when freshly cut has
odor of toilet soap-W.A. Archer). For inhalation for coughs and colds; boil and drink tea. To
smoke for coughs and asthma. Cut in small pieces for inhaling. Dry then powder and inhale as snuff or smoke in
pipe.
