Dear Prof.Friesner:
Please accept my apologies for not replying to your kind letter of March 14,1940. This matter was mishandled and accounts for the negligence. I most certainly appreciate your offer to work up a list of your botanical publications and also to have made some pictures of your botanical laboratories, but feel that this would involve too much of your time, etc. From the catalog of publications I had hoped to draw some material for use in my laboratory in work involving plant physiology and anatomy. As for the pictures, I thought it might be possible to add to collection of laboratory history. However, I am most grateful to you. May I suggest that should such material become available in the future, will you consider my request if agreeable to you.
Thanking you again and hoping to hear from you, I am,
Sincerely yours,
R.T.Hampton.
